Formality is the point of this shoe. The facings are stitched under the vamp in the closed-lacing way, so the four eyelet rows sit flush and the instep reads as one continuous line. A straight seam divides the toe cap from the vamp, and the cap itself is burnished several shades deeper than the body of the shoe. The upper is smooth leather, polished to a mirror-like shine across the front. The sole is slim and stitched around a narrow welt, finishing on a low stacked heel.
